9:00am: Breakfast- Peanut Butter Cookie LaraBar
Morning Workout: Cardio Kickboxing class + 18 minute kettlebell workout
Well...as you can probably guess from reading this: I SURVIVED my first kickboxing class in YEARS! Definitely felt the 'first class awkwardness' that most people usually feel walking into a new fitness classJ It was funny being 'the new girl' again since my yoga/jam/boxing classes are usually filled with friendly, familiar facesJ Thankfully I felt at home really quick since, even though I haven't been to kickboxing in awhile, I have taken BOXING and knew all the punches & steps....oh yeah, I forgot that before I went in! Class was FANTASTIC and I think I was still sweating BY. THE. TIME. I. GOT. HOME! And since I was still 'warmed up,' I thought I'd throw in the Tone it up video too (which I can feel in my shoulders as I type thisJ)
1:00pm: Lunch- Banana Date Smoothie Bowl
- 1 cup unsweetened & light coconut milk
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/4 cup oats
- 4 dates
- Cinnamon & nutmeg
- 1 scoop protein powder
3:30pm: Snack- Avocado Quinoa
IN. LOVE. INLOVE with this snack!!! If you like avocado, you MUST try it. I thought it mighta been beginner's luck, but no: This snack is STILL phenomenal.
6:00pm: Dinner- Buffalo Chicken & Blue Cheese cole slaw
One of our ALL-TIME FAVORITES. Scott calls this our easiest, most delicious dinner EVER...if you haven't noticed in the 9,000 times we've had it in the last 4 yearsJ I think we could probably have this 3 times a week and we still wouldn't get tired of it. JUST TOO GOOD.
Evening Workout: Beginner's Power Yoga
Not sure if the class was really hard or the room was really warm, but was drenched AGAIN in sweat by the end. ...YA HEARD ME, SCALE????? J
8:00pm: "Dessert"- Chocolate Coconut Water
So a quick trip to Trader Joe's after class left me sooooooooooo thirsty that I grabbed the closest thing that I could guzzle right in the aislesJ Mmmmmmmmmmmm...and chocolate flavored Zico is just SOOOOO good. Tastes like chocolate milk with the added hydration and electrolyte benefits of coconut water. And 110 calories per bottle isn't going to kill ya, neither.
Alrighty, well my hair is growing by the minute as I type this. Which can only mean: YES, HUMIDITY has come to NJ. After an absolute GLORIOUS weekend of sunshine & low 80 temps, we are faced with a week of daily rain which means it's time to crank up the air since, despite it being in the 70's, the house is SUPER stuffy. Sighhhh....such as the 'bummer' parts of summerJ Although I guess that comes along with it's charms, that I BASKED in over the weekedJ
Have a great Tuesday!J
